Here the oil tells its story where it is born: among the olive trees of Terra d’Arneo, with the people who tend them every day.
Tenuta Ingegna has its roots in early twentieth-century farming. The name comes from the “ngegna”, the old waterwheel that local farmers turned with animals to lift water from the wells and irrigate the fields.
Today the family carries on that same alliance between man and nature with organic farming practices, a new planting of young olive trees beside the historic ones, and a production that brings together extra virgin olive oil and local wines.
The tasting is the most direct way to get to know it: an evening in the countryside, a small group, and products told by the people who make them.

Welcome to the estate
We welcome you right at the farm. We start with the story of the family and the “ngegna”, and the philosophy that guides our work: tradition, innovation and respect for natural resources.

Walk through the olive grove with the agronomist
You walk between the new grove, planted two years ago, and trees that are over forty years old. The estate agronomist shows you our organic practices and every step that takes the olive to the oil.

Guided extra virgin olive oil tasting
You learn to recognise the aromas and character of our extra virgin olive oil, served with a selection of typical local products.

We close with a guided tasting of our estate wines, glass in hand, as the light changes between the rows of olive trees.

Andrea is an excellent host: he walked us through the whole journey from tree to oil, with two estate oils, local foods to pair and three wines he makes himself.

Where exactly is the meeting point?
Right at the farm, in the countryside of Porto Cesareo. After booking we send you the exact location on WhatsApp, ready to open in your navigator. There is room to park.
What time does the tasting start?
The time follows the sunset, so it changes with the seasons: in summer we usually start in the late afternoon. When we confirm your date we give you the exact time.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes: cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start, with a full refund if you booked online.
Can I bring children?
Yes, the walk through the olive grove is suitable for everyone. The wine tasting is for adults only; for the little ones we arrange a non-alcoholic alternative. Write to us and we will find the right solution.
What language is the tour in?
Italian or English, depending on the group. Just tell us your preferred language when you book.
What should I bring?
Just comfortable shoes: you walk on country ground. Unfortunately the route is not wheelchair accessible. We take care of everything else.
